This is an adaptation for children from Homer's classic by the author of The Magic Treehouse series. Annie and Spencer are really enjoying it. And to think, I did not even know about the Odyssey until I was in High School English class. Kids these days have it pretty good.
Kenzie is going to be reading this in a class at school. I'll let you know how she likes it.
ReplyDeleteNettie - Such a great idea to start a book blog! As usual, "I want to be like Nettie!!!" How are you doing? How's the baby?????? Have you completed your renovation projects from last year, and are we just that behind in your life????? It's been a crazy summer (moved twice) and are just getting settled into the new area, school, job etc, but loving Florida. Have had a lot of adventures amid the chaos too. I am over 9 months behind in updating family blog and catching up with family and friends, but definitely wanted to add Berry family favorites to your blog. Couldn't figure out how to do it, so will add in comment section. We enjoy many of the greats mentioned in your blog - Boxcar children, Magic Treehouse, AtoZ mysteries, etc. But I hadn't thought to start Harry Potter yet, so great idea. We like Usborne books also, amazing earth and science selections, and I think WE learn more than the kids sometimes. Just found our local library last week, so will check out the classics by Mary Pope osbourne, thanks! We also love authors Jane Yolen and Mo Willems (mostly Elephant and Piggie books where we can laugh for hours - NO KIDDING on the same books over and over! Also great easy readers for Pre-K's) Really got into Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys over the summer too. Isn't it so cool to see the kids love things WE loved as kids?? Anyway, thanks again for setting this up and send more great ideas - Lots of love, The Berrys
