Allies and Assassins is an amazingly good book. Prince Jared of All Archenfield is depressed by his brother, Prince Anders's, death. His cousin, Axel Blaxland, is the Captain of the Guard. The Council of the Twelve, Logan Wilde (the Poet), Emelie Sharp (the Beekeeper), Father Simeon (the Priest), Nova Chastain (the Falconer), Kai Jagger (the Huntsman), Elias Peck (the Physician), Vera Webb (the Cook), Hal Harness (the Prince's Guard), Morgan Booth (the Dungeon keeper), Axel Blaxland (the Captain of the Guard), and others will be able to help him. Or will they? This book is really amazing. Thanks, Justin Somper.

BOY BOOKS

I have found it is much harder to find books Spencer likes.  He is a non-fiction kind of guy.  Annie inhales books.  She did from the beginning.  Spencer has always required "certain" books and so I bring home piles from the library and see what he likes.  We were in Oregon at Powell's bookstore and I got him all of these and he has been coming home each day, passing the legos and reading. Wanted to pass on in the event it is helpful.

He is also reading Unwanted but not devouring them like he has these other ones.  That Powell's Books is great in Portland.  I could just tell by the way they had things set out what Spencer would get in to and I was right 100% with each book.

Falling Into Heaven By Stephen Craig

Falling Into Heaven is a book about a boy named Ike who lives with his dad. When he finds out that his dad has invented a suit that allows people to explore the skies he wants to try it out. When Ike is able to try out the suit he finds that he is on top of the world. But there are also I questions that he has; Why has his dad not shared it with the world? Why is he reluctant to share everything with him? Why is his dad so nervous about letting Ike use it when he sees it is perfectly safe? I like this book because it makes me think about what we can do as humans and what we can't do but it also is very mysterious and it grabs your attention quickly.

Henry Huggins by Beverly Cleary (reviewed by Bud, age 8)

Henry Huggins by Beverly Cleary is a good book! It's about a boy named Henry Huggins. He lives on Klickitat Street. Henry meets an abandoned dog and names him Ribsy. Life can be full of adventures. Who wants to be on a school stage in their pajamas and being kissed by an eighth grade girl? Or who wants to go to a dog show and win a silver cup for the most unusual dog? Or who wants to throw a brand-new leather football into a car going 80 miles per hour and having to buy a new one with your allowance? Henry has to. If you want to learn more about Henry Huggins read the book. Don't miss these books called, Henry and Beezus, Henry and Ribsy, Henry and the Paper Route, Henry and the Clubhouse, and Ribsy. Happy Reading!
